SSC CHSL Typing Test 10

Formula to Calculate Speed Test:

CW = Total correct typed words
RW = Total Wrong typed words
TW = Total Typed Word ( CW + RW )
Typing Speed (WPM)=[CW] / Time
Accuracy = (CW / TW ) x 100

For Post: Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA)

i) Typing Speed: 35 W.P.M. for English Language and 30 W.P.M. for Hindi Language
ii) Time Allotted: 10 Minute (15 Minutes for the candidates eligible for scribe)
iii) 35 w.p.m. and 30w.p.m. correspond to 10500 KDPH/9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word

For Post: Data Entry Operator (DEO)/Data Entry Operator Grade-A

i) Typing Speed: 35 W.P.M. for English Language and 30 W.P.M. for Hindi Language
ii) Time Allotted: 15 Minute (20 Minutes for the candidates eligible for scribe)
iii) 35 w.p.m. and 30w.p.m. correspond to 10500 KDPH/9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word

Instruction for Proficiency Test/Skill Test:
In the SSC CHSL, Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA) candidates have to type atleast 1750 keystrokes correctly and for Data Entry Operator (DEO)/Data Entry Operator Grade-A candidates have to type atleast 2625 keystrokes correctly . Computer Proficiency Test has been prescribed. DEST is of qualifying nature.
The actual skill test will be preceded by a test passage for 5 minutes in order to enable the candidates to adjust to the system and key board provided by the Commission.
The candidates are not required to re-enter the text on completion of the passage and, therefore, should utilize the spare time to correct mistakes, if any.
Commission will decide at its discretion qualifying standard in entry of the text for different categories of candidates taking into consideration overall performance of the candidates in the skill test and available vacancies, subject to the standards not falling below limits fixed by the Commission.
The skill test will be of qualifying nature.
